Cognito is supported by the University of Amsterdam, but since we are a small student union, we ask for a small membership fee from our members so that we can keep serving you!
The membership fee is only 10 euros and can be paid either in cash or through a payment link (requires a Dutch bank account). New coming students generally become members of the union in the first few weeks of classes, and we will make sure to reach out to you then. The fee covers membership for 2 years. Want to know more? Note that it is not mandatory to become a member if you are an MBCS student. However, it is highly recommended, since being a Cognito member means that you will be able to attend to our events for free or a smaller fee and that the union will use its connections to try to solve problems you may encounter during your Master’s.
